About

Vintage Quest Acres is a 20 acre farm about an hour south of Knoxville, TN. We are committed to no chemicals, and producing food that doesn’t take a heck of a lot of extra care in East Tennessee. We distribute our produce through a CSA system.

Lisa, the primary writer on this blog, grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and knew very little about farming prior to owing one. For years she has belonged to other CSA’s and learned how to cook to the box. Now she cooks to the farm. Whatever comes off the land in abundance ends up on the dinner table. Or as a rotting pile of produce in the fridge. There is no perfection in farming and even a dedicated farm wife will have food better fit for the chickens than for children.

Farmer Z grew up in the jungles of southern Africa. He will write here and there about the crazy state of farming, and oil, and what he does to create a farm from raw land.

Lisa and Z have 2 kids, who “farm-school”. What better teaching tool than a bunch of chickens, eggs and an excel spreadsheet?
